Resumes

Jennifer Smith

Jennifer is an E-commerce Executive in the NYC retail industry.  She wanted a resume that could be used for a variety of potential jobs in her industry.  I broke down her experience into categories that highlighted key projects, duties, and/or areas of expertise. This organization allowed us to consolidate numerous job titles at the same company into a single section and eliminate repetition.  I then designed Jennifer a template in Adobe InDesign that emphasized this content strategy so that potential employers can jump to the particular area of expertise they are seeking in just a few seconds.

Stephen Bratt

As a recent college graduate in computer science, Stephen wanted a resume that stood out visually without interfering with readability.  Based on industry standards, we started with his education, programming languages and coursework.  Since he had limited experience as a new graduate, we focused on an independent project he completed and a recent summer internship, describing the accomplishments of both as if they were full-time jobs.

Stephen Smith

Stephen is a Software Engineer in Silicon Valley, so he needed to highlight his languages/technologies and education at the top of his resume, followed by an easy-to-scan overview of his accomplishments as a software engineer.  We then highlighted the project management and customer-service skills that Stephen acquired during his previous career in customer service, since these skills set him apart as having both programming and interpersonal skills.  He liked the design of Jennifer Smith's resume so much that he asked for a tailored version.
